Storefront — building the Bledlard shop

Storefront — building the Bledlard shop

Bledlard needed a shop that felt like the label, not like a template. We built the storefront end to end — structure, art direction, and the front-end itself — so that buying a piece carries the same weight as the drop it came from.

The brief

Bledlard is the clothing arm under the Black Rout roof: small-batch garments designed alongside the artists we record, with drops that follow releases. The site had to do three jobs at once — hold the brand, move product, and stay editable by people who do not write code.

That last point shaped everything. A storefront nobody on the team can update is a storefront that goes stale in a month.

Structure before surface

We mapped the paths a buyer actually takes before drawing a single screen: arrive from a link in a bio, land on a drop, understand the sizing, and check out without a detour. Everything that did not serve one of those steps got cut.

The catalogue is built so a new drop is a few fields, not a rebuild — images, sizes, price, and a short line of copy. The layout does the rest.

Art direction

The label reads dark, warm, and a little worn — so the site does too. Deep ground, rust and teal accents, display type that sits close and heavy. Product photography carries the colour; the interface stays out of its way.

Motion is used sparingly and always for a reason: things resolve into place as you scroll, nothing bounces for attention.

Walkthrough

A short screen recording says more about a storefront than any paragraph.

Video Paste a YouTube or Vimeo embed code here — a screen recording of the storefront works well. It is stretched to the full column at 16:9 for you.

The launch

The site went out alongside the drop rather than ahead of it, so the announcement and the ability to buy landed in the same breath.

Social post Paste an Instagram, TikTok or Facebook embed code for the launch post. Instagram: ⋯ menu → Embed. TikTok: Share → Embed. Facebook: ⋯ menu → Embed.

What we would do again

Build the update workflow first. The prettiest storefront in the world is worthless if adding a drop takes a developer. Everything on this site that changes often is a field somebody on the team can reach.
